SOUTH WINDSOR PATRIOTIC COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING – April 19, 2010
The meeting was called to order at 7:34 p.m. and opened by saying the Pledge of Allegiance.
ATTENDEES:
Terri Kyc, Kent Carlson, Herb Asplund, Leonard Glasser, Robert Moeller, Peter Anthony, James Throwe, Roger Anderson and Doris Avery. Officer Gesualdi was also in attendance.
MINUTES:
The March 15, 2010 minutes were approved after making the following corrections: revised balance is $9,200.00 and not $4,500.00. Correction of names: Stonoho to Stonoha and change Robert to Roger Anderson.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Revised balance is $8,700.00. Report filed with Secretary.
CORRESPONDENCE: None
Note: Under Essay Contest. It was brought to Kent’s attention that one of the winners did not get his/her prize. A Barnes & Noble gift card was given to that winner. Kent will follow up with the other winners of the Essay Contest to see if everyone has received their prizes.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Veteran’s Day Parade: November 7, 2010
No report. Need a person to chair this event.
Veteran’s Day Ceremony: November 11, 2010
No report. Need a person to chair this event.
Essay Contest:
Roger Anderson volunteered to chair this event for next year.
Regular Meeting

Evening In The Park: May 15, 2010
Kent reported that the fire marshall has the permit. Need permit for chairs this year. Will have the bounce house; South Windsor Community Band will be present. Peter Anthony will be getting posters to be placed throughout the town and at different town facilities. Kent will help.
Memorial Day Parade: May 31, 2010
Leonard Glasser reported that he is mailing out letters to all participants. Boy Scouts need to be contacted and that he is still looking for speakers. (He has 2 people in mind) to contact. South Windsor High School Band will march this year along with the Manchester Fife & Drum.
Flag Day Ceremony: June 12, 2010
Kent will contact John regarding information for this event.
OLD BUSINESS:
Robert Moeller checked the website and all seems to be okay.
NEW BUSINESS:
None.
