SOUTH WINDSOR PATRIOTIC COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING – March 15, 2010
The meeting was called to order at 7:35 p.m. and opened by saying the Pledge of Allegiance.
ATTENDEES:
Teri Dickey-Gaignat, Kent Carlson, Herb Asplund, Leonard Glasser, Robert Moeller, Peter Anthony, Robert Anderson, John Stonoha, James Throwe and Doris Avery.
MINUTES: February 16, 2010
Meeting was cancelled by vice-chairman, John Stonoho, due to inclement weather.

None.
TREASURER’S REPORT:
Revised balance as of this date $4,500.00. Copy filed with secretary.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Veteran’s Day Parade: November 7, 2010
No information received.
Veteran’s Day Ceremony: November 11, 2010
No report.
Essay Contest:
John Stonoho told members of the patriotic commission this evening that he was resigning from the commission. It was indicated that John needs to write a letter of resignation and mail to town council.
Due to John’s resignation, it was decided that we would not pursue the essay contest this year, as there would not be enough time to read and select winners.

Evening In The Park: May 15, 2010
Letters going out. Peter to look into getting some posters for this event. A meeting with town officials will take place next month. Kent commented that the bounce house was a big hit with the kids; need more police officers on the trails.
Memorial Day Parade: May 31, 2010
Leonard reported that he is getting ready to mail out letters. SWHS and TEM bands will participate. Look into possibly get the Manchester Fife & Drum to participate. Herb has a back up for someone to play taps.
Leonard is still looking for a Memorial Day speaker. Kent reported that 3 gross of flags have been ordered.
Robert Moeller will take care of the ordering and placing of 2 requested bricks. Last time we placed a brick was in 2008.
Flag Day Ceremony: June 12, 2010
No report. Need to find someone to take over this event what with John Stonoho’s resignation.
OLD BUSINESS:
Web site person – John Marchessault – call and he would add information on site.
NEW BUSINESS: None.
