did a fantastic job in showing their appreciation to the Veterans that attended this program.

Need to work more on publicity for the Veteran Day ceremonies and other events in the future.  Need to come up with an agenda as to how and when to publish the different events.  Find out whom to contact at the following facilities:

                        South Windsor Life
                        The Reminder
                        Journal Inquirer

Need to appoint an individual that will monitor the publicity.

Essay Contest:

John reported that the Board of Education approved the following questions:   K-5 - How Can I be a Patriotic American?; 6-8 - Why was the Declaration of Independence so important?;  9-12 -  What is the most important part of the U.S. Constitution and why?

Tim Moriarty has the certificates and will be getting those out for this year’s participants.

John will make changes to last year’s format and get to the schools within the next few weeks.  The Essay Contest will start on December 15, 2009 and end January 15, 2010.
