SOUTH WINDSOR PATRIOTIC COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING – October 19, 2009
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. and opened by saying the Pledge of Allegiance.
ATTENDEES:
Teri Dickey-Gaignat, Kent Carlson, Herb Asplund, Leonard Glasser, Robert Moeller, Peter Anthony, John Stonoha, James Throwe and Doris Avery.
MINUTES:
The September 21, 2009 minutes were approved after making the following correction: Under Old Business: change the word commissions to terms and delete, Herb will take care of James Throwe and Scott Simmons, change Scott Simmons as an alternate to: as a replacement.
TREASURER’S REPORT: Same as September 21, 2009. $13,500.00. No report filed with secretary.
CORRESPONDENCE: Received reappointment letters for the following commission members: Doris Avery, Peter Anthony and James Throwe.
Herb will post an update on Louis Craparotta at Town Hall bulletin board.
COMMITTEE REPORTS:
Veteran’s Day Parade: November 8, 2009
The following groups have been invited: Middle School Band, South Windsor Police and Veterans Group. Buses are available at Town Senior Center for people that want to participate in the parade.
Veteran’s Day Ceremony: November 11, 2009
The following have been done: High school set, PA system, chairs all set. Need publicity on this event. Teri will do the publicity. Teri will order 5 wreaths; no programs will be handed out. Leonard needs to find a speaker for this event. Robert Moeller will invite Paul Mozzicato to receive his medal.

Essay Contest:
John Stonoho passed out the 2010 Essay potential questions to all members present. John will get in touch with Mr. Archibald to get his opinions and or comments on the Essay questions.
Evening In The Park: May 15, 2010
Kent Carlson will chair this event. Info to follow at a later date.
Memorial Day Parade: May 31, 2010
Leonard Glasser will chair this event. Info to follow at a later date.
Flag Day Ceremony: June 12, 2010
John Stonoho will chair this event. Info to follow at a later date.
OLD BUSINESS: See Under correspondence.
NEW BUSINESS:
James Throwe made a motion to approve the slate as the incumbent officers to be re-elected for another year. Motion passed.
