SOUTH WINDSOR PATRIOTIC COMMISSION
REGULAR MEETING – September 21, 2009
The meeting was called to order at 7:30 p.m. and opened by saying the pledge of allegiance.
ATTENDEES:
Kent Carlson, Robert Moeller, Terri Kyc, Herb Asplund, Peter Anthony and Doris Avery.
MINUTES:
The June 15, 2009 minutes were approved after the following corrections:
Evening in the Park – change (major) to mayor
Memorial Day Parade – change, It was noted that TO: Herb said that Sue Rose
CORRESPONDENCE:
Kent received note from Matthew Reed indicating that he will participate in the Hartford Veterans Day Parade to be held in Hartford on November 8, 2009.
Dennis Sheridan indicates that a mini bus is available for the Hartford Veterans Day Parade.
The issue of Glenn Rose’s name, being misspelled, is being taken over by the Town.
TREASURER’S REPORT: $13,500.00. Report filed with secretary.

Veteran’s Parade: - November 8, 2009.

More information to follow. The Firing Squad and TEMS Band have been invited to this event.
Regular Meeting

Essay Contest: It was noted that certificates for the participants were not sent out. John Stonoha not present to report further on this event.
Evening In The Park: No report.
Memorial Day: No report.
OLD BUSINESS:
There are four members, James Throwe, Doris Avery, Scott Simmons and Peter Anthony, whose commissions expired on August 31, 2009. Herb will take care of James Throwe and Scott Simmons. Suggested to appoint Scott Simmons as an Alternate and appoint Leonard Glasser as a current member.
NEW BUSINESS: Election of Officers
Nominations deferred until October’s meeting.
