OPEN SPACE TASK FORCE



Meeting of March 4, 2002

Meeting Called To Order:  5:30 p.m.

    *   Botteron read letter from Roger L.Olsen, Chairperson of Enfield Conservation Commission thanking the South Windsor Open Space Task Force for sending  materials which will assist them in developing a plan of conservation for Enfield.

*       Botteron and Normen reported on the outcome from the meeting of the Park and Recreation Commission.  The PARC wishes to work closely with other commissions/committees on implementing their Master Plan.  

*       Continued editing draft copy of guidelines for naming Town owned properties.  Town Manager requested the Task Force to draw up said guidelines at the November 5, 2001 Open Space Task Force Meeting.   This draft copy was prepared by Genetic and Norman.

It was decided to change the public notice to read
A motion was made by Kerensky and seconded by Evans.  A vote was held and the motion carried unanimously.

Transmittal and copies of the final draft of the Town of South Windsor Public Park, Open Space and Facility Naming Policy will be forwarded to the Town Council Members and the Town Manager.

*       Banach reported that the letter and materials on various methods to preserve land   are ready for mailing to the perspective property owners (approximately twelve) that had been identified for ownership of land that is shown in the Open Space Master Plan for conservation/preservation.

*       Next scheduled meeting is April 1, 2002 at 5:30 p.m.
