3. Charlie read a "thank you" letter from Bill & Janine Thomas, on behalf of the Baha'i group
4. Charlie indicated that the HRC Annual Report had been submitted.
5. HRC Photo Contest...Charlie reported on Courant article about Wethersfield Photo Contest
...no entries to date
...group would like Karen Wagner to inquire about placing an additional article
5. Poetry Day...discussion of poetry presentation by ASD
Rick will contact teachers to determine which group would be best for presentation
7. HRC Film Festival...discussion of presentations following films
...Rick will investigate having a teacher from ASD to lead discussion
8. "Getting to Know Your Neighbors"...concern was expressed about the Jamaican group's planning
...Nilafor has contacted a Turkish group about making a presentation.
...members indicated they would like to pursue Jamaican group for commitment
to Jan. 15, 2015 presentation.
9. Park Bench Project...Charlie has request costs, maintenance and installation information from Ray Favreau
...Ray Favreau requested that Charlie present the project to the Parks & Recreation Committee
in December.
...Committee created a plan for project:
begin with a single bench
site to be one of the walking trails
SW artists to be given opportunity to submit bench designs
HRC will select design from applicants
theme of first bench will be COMMUNITY
HRC will finance bench
11. Facebook Page/Web Site...discussion of the construction of an HRC web site/facebook page
..sites could be used to disseminate information about events
...Rick and Karen will work on project
...Karen volunteered to administer the web site
...Committee requested that all social media sites allow us to block undesirable contact
