WORK SESSION
Mary Dunn, from the State Historic Preservation Office, was a special guest who gave a power point presentation on the benefits and procedures for becoming a Certified Local Government. Becoming a CLG requires the town to take historic preservation into consideration in the planning process. It also provides access to state grants for planning, and education. A productive discussion took place.

CALL MEETING TO ORDER
Chairperson Macro called the meeting to order at 8:10 p.m.

ROLL CALL
Commissioner Jean Klein was appointed as a full member to replace Commissioner Edwina Futtner.

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
Mr. Louis DiModugno, 1675 Main Street, discussed his plans for an above ground pool and gazebo approximately 400 feet from the road.

THE MEETING WAS SUSPENDED AT 8:40 TO CONDUCT THE PUBLIC HEARING AND RESUMED AT 8:50 PM.

APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
Motion to approve previous meeting minutes was made by Virginia Macro, seconded by Walter Fitzpatrick and approved unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS
"       A consensus was reached that since the above ground pool proposed by Mr. DiModugno was in a depression in the yard and will be obscured from view, the Commission would agree to its installation, with the provision that if, in the winter months the pool was visible, measures would be taken to conceal it; i.e.  plantings or fence screening. It was decided that a Public Hearing would be required for the gazebo.
"       Motion to approve Certificate of Appropriateness for Macro for repointing foundations at 1828 Main Street, by Commissioner Burnham, seconded by Commissioner Klein and approved (Mrs. Macro abstained on the vote).

OLD BUSINESS
The new Historic District Handbook was distributed to members present.

ADMINISTRATION
(a.)    Chariperson Macro reported that the transmittal letter and Historic District Handbook are ready for distribution to residents of the District.

(b.)    Chairperson Macro reported that the Town has received a $14,000 State Grant for Phase II Historic Resources Survey.
