MINUTES         REGULAR MEETING
CAUCUS ROOM     TOWN HALL       June 10, 2014

Members present:        Chair Virginia Macro, Sandy Jeski, Gary Pitcock, Walter FitzPatrick
Members absent: Peter Jennings
Alternates present:     Louise Evans
Alternates absent:      Caroline Taylor, Katherine Foley

CALL MEETING TO ORDER
Chairperson Macro called the meeting to order at 7:59 p.m. and appointed Louise Evans to sit-in for Peter Jennings.

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
None

APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS
A motion to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of May 6, 2014, was made by Gary Pitcock, seconded by Sandy Jeski. The motion carried unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS
  • Motion to approve Certificate of Appropriateness Application for existing parking at the Watson House, 1876 Main Street, for a one chair hair dressing in-home business was made by Commissioner FitzPatrick, seconded by Commissioner Evans.  It was noted that the applicant has withdrawn his request for a burning bush hedge line.  The motion was passed unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS
  • The by-laws to be finalized at next meeting on July 1, 2014.
  • The variance for the All-Phase Electrical expansion was granted by the Zoning Board of Appeals.  The State will provide funding for a study to evaluate the visual impact of the All-Phase three story expansion if it is deemed appropriate.
ADMINISTRATION
  • Chairperson Macro is working with the State for a grant for “Vibrant Communities Initiative”, which will allow hiring consultants to evaluate how to focus on proper development and preservation of Main Street historic value.
ADJOURNMENT
A motion to adjourn was made at 9:12 pm by Commissioner FitzPatrick, seconded by Commissioner Jeski and approved unanimously.
