MINUTES         REGULAR MEETING
CAUCUS ROOM     TOWN HALL       April 1, 2014

Members present:        Chair Virginia Macro, Sandy Jeski, Gary Pitcock, Walter FitzPatrick
Members absent: Peter Jennings
Alternates present:     Katherine Foley, Louise Evans
Alternates absent:      Caroline Taylor

CALL MEETING TO ORDER
Chairperson Macro called the meeting to order at 7:39 p.m. and appointed Louise Evans to sit-in for Peter Jennings.

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION
None

APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETINGS
A motion to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting of March 4, 2014 was made by Walter FitzPatrick, seconded by Sandra Jeski. The motion carried unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS
  • Motion by Commissioner Foley, seconded by Commissioner Jeski to add a discussion of the All-Phase Building Expansion and variance request for industrial setback to the agenda.  Approved unanimously.
  • Plans for the All-Phase expansion were presented and discussed.  It was pointed out by Commissioner Pitcock that the State Historic Preservation Office needs to be informed of potential visual impact on the Schweir House (corner of Sullivan Avenue and John Fitch Boulevard), which is on the State Register of Historic Places as well as the entrance to the Local Historic District, all of which is on the National Register of Historic Places.
OLD BUSINESS
  • The by-laws will be reviewed at the next meeting.  Commissioners were requested to review by-laws for potential updates before the meeting.
ADMINISTRATION
  • Discussed Certified Local Government, the benefits and requirements for status.  A presentation to Town Council is planned for April 7, 2014.
ADJOURNMENT
A motion to adjourn was made at 8:52 by Katherine Foley, seconded by Sandy Jeski and approved unanimously.
