PUBLIC PARTICIPATION:
  • Mr. and Mrs. William Fraize, 1562 Main Street
  • Mr. Steven Munz, representing Hartford Evergreen Lodge
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
  • Motion by Commissioner Pitcock, seconded by Commissioner Jeski, was made to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting held on May 8, 2013.  The motion carried unanimously.
  • Motion by Commissioner Pitcock, seconded by Commissioner Jeski, was made to approve the minutes of the Public Hearing held on May 8, 2013, with a correction of the meeting room to Madden from Caucus.  The motion carried unanimously.
OLD BUSINESS:
  • Discussed various turn-around options for the Fraizes and their tenants at 1562 Main Street via the use of photos and scaled sketch.
  • Discussed options for the four air conditioning condenser units and a 30 kilowatt emergency generator for the Evergreen Lodge, using equipment cut sheets. Two sheathing pipes on the north exterior of the building will conceal tubing from the condensers to the interior air conditioning units. The storage-shed brochure was reviewed for various styles.
  • Motion by Commissioner Jeski to deny the COA for Fraize parking proposal due to its visual impact and its impairing the integrity of the façade of the property and the character of the district.  Motion was seconded by Commissioner Pitcock and approved unanimously.
  • Motion by Commissioner Evans to approve the Evergreen Lodge COA application for four condenser units with two exterior enclosures for piping.  The Historic District Commission reserves the right to require visual screening after the installation of the condensers.  Motion was seconded by Commissioner Pitcock and approved unanimously.
  • Motion by Commissioner FitzPatrick to approve the Evergreen Lodge COA application for a maximum 30 kilowatt generator, a buried propane tank and required removal of the present propane tank.  The Historic District Commission reserves the right to require screening after the installation.  Motion was seconded by Commissioner Evans and approved unanimously.
  • Motion by Commissioner Evans to deny the Evergreen Lodge COA application for a shed due to the lack of specificity of the options presented, the diminishing of the stately appearance of the Lodge building, and the visual impact from the adjoining Ancient Burying Ground.  Motion was seconded by Commissioner Jeski and approved unanimously.
ADJOURNMENT:

Commissioner Pitcock moved to adjourn the meeting at 10:03 pm; seconded by Commissioner Jeski.  The motion carried unanimously.

Respectfully Submitted,
