CALL MEETING TO ORDER: Chairperson Macro called the meeting to order at 7:55 pm
ROLL CALL
Members present: Chairperson Macro, Commissioner FitzPatrick
Members absent: Commissioner Klein, Commissioner Jennings, Commissioner Pitcock
Alternates present: Commissioner Evans, Commissioner Foley
Alternates absent: Commissioner Taylor
Commissioner Evans was appointed to sit for Commissioner Jennings. Commissioner Foley was appointed to sit for Commissioner Pitcock.
PUBLIC PARTICIPATION: Tod Bryant and Lucas Karmazinas, representing Heritage Resources.
APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
- Motion by Commissioner FitzPatrick, seconded by Commissioner Macro was made to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting held on May 1, 2012. The motion carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
- The Heritage Resources representatives presented a list of properties based on comparison to an 1869’s map. This list includes the 63 identified properties and an additional 35-40 resources, which still exist. Heritage proposed surveying 63 properties from Ellington Road and west, which leaves approximately 30 properties for a future survey. Chairperson Macro will resolve with Mrs. Mary Dunne at the State Historic Preservation Office.
- Commissioner FitzPatrick moved, seconded by Commissioner Evans, approval of the Certificate of Appropriateness application #02.12 for the Hartford Evergreen Lodge on property located at 1559 Old Main Street as presented, with the inclusion of a flag pole on the north near the lodge sign, and with the provision that the split rail fence be eliminated on the north side as much as possible. HDC recommends the stone used for landscaping on the southeast corner and along the cemetery fence be a natural color (not white as shown in the color photographs) similar to River Jacks. The motion was approved unanimously.
ADJOURNMENT:
Commissioner Evans moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:41 pm; seconded by Commissioner Macro. The motion carried unanimously.
