APPROVAL OF MINUTES:
- Motion by Commissioner Foley, seconded by Commissioner FitzPatrick was made to approve the minutes of the Regular Meeting held on July 12, 2011. The motion carried unanimously.
NEW BUSINESS:
- Motion by Commissioner FitzPatrick to deny without prejudice the Application for a Certificate of Appropriateness for the construction of a garage addition to 1576 Main Street since the elevation plans requested by HDC will not be provided by the applicant. The motion was seconded by Commissioner Foley and approved unanimously.
- Discussed the house plans for the interior lot at 1576 Main Street, plus the modifications submitted by Mr. Sunderland and the impact of three driveways in a row. HDC questions whether the driveway configurations will change without the garage addition to the existing structure.
- Discussed the demolition of the brick carriage house by Mrs. St. Cyr at 47 Ferry Lane. A review by the structural engineer confirmed the conclusion that the structure is not able to be economically saved and/or refurbished. Three members of the HDC viewed the structure, consulted The Connecticut Trust for Historic Preservation, Cirrus Engineering, and the Town Building Inspector, and concluded that the demolition could go forward based on the hazardous conditions.
OLD BUSINESS:
- The application has been submitted for Phase III of the Historic Resources Inventory.
ADJOURNMENT:
Commissioner FitzPatrick moved to adjourn the meeting at 9:40 pm; seconded by Commissioner Foley. The motion carried unanimously.
Respectfully Submitted,
Donna Thompson, Recording Secretary Approved: October 4, 2011
