Historic District Commission 9-4-07 (regular meeting)

2.      ROLL CALL

Alternates absent:      Commissioner Jennings, Commissioner Klein, Commissioner Oates

3.      PUBLIC PARTICIPATION:  None

4.      APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS  MEETING:  July 10, 2007
Motion to approve as amended that alternate, Paul Oates was appointed as a full member was made by Gary Pitcock.  The motion was seconded by Walter Fitzpatrick; the motion carried unanimously.

5.      NEW BUSINESS

6.      OLD BUSINESS:
(a)     Discussed demolition delay ordinance.  There was a question regarding why there is a size limitation of buildings under 500 square feet.  Dr. Wood’s office is less than that size.  Historic District Commission is to wait for the opportunity to review with the CT Trust for Historic Presentation at an upcoming workshop on October 24..
(b)     Historic District Commission Ordinance – it was pointed out that enforcement language has been added.

7.       ADMINISTRATION
(a)     Chairperson read a letter from Ms. Joy O’Connor, Blight Ordinance Enforcement, concerning addressStreet3 Main Street properties (2 Lindquist properties and the Loftus Property).
(b)     CT. Trust for Historic Preservation will hold a seminar on September 24, 2007, 5:30 p.m., at the Wood Library.
(c.)    Chairperson pointed out that National Register Plaques are available and should be encouraged for Historic properties.  State or Town funding may be available.
8.      ADJOURNMENT
Commissioner Futtner made a motion to adjourn the meeting at 8:45p.m.; seconded by Commissioner Burnham; the motion carried unanimously.
