CALL MEETING TO ORDER

Vice-Chairperson Macro called the meeting to order at 7:55 PM.

ROLL CALL

Vice-Chairperson Macro appointed alternates Peter Jennings and Walter Fitzpatrick to serve as regular members of the Commission for this meeting.

PUBLIC PARTICIPATION

None

APPROVAL OF MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING

A motion to amend the minutes of the January 13, 2004, to add the word “lighting” in the approval of the revised plans for the Bellizzi house, was made by Commissioner Jennings, seconded by Commissioner Burnham.  The phrase should read “this excludes any patio, stairs or lighting which must be applied for separately.”  The motion carried unanimously.

NEW BUSINESS

It was the consensus of the Commission not to delay elections any longer.  Commissioner Pitcock nominated the following slate of officers, seconded by Commissioner Burnham:

Ms. Virginia Macro as the Chairperson
Ms. Kathy Brady as the Vice-Chairperson
Mr. Walter Fitzpatrick as the Secretary

The slate was elected unanimously.

Vice-Chair Virginia Macro is working on the Historic District guideline package and will submit it for Commissioner’s review.




OLD BUSINESS

Candida Ryan Property: after discussion, it was agreed that another letter, requesting further information on the style of the fence, as stated in January 13, 2004 minutes of the Regular meeting, would be written.  Approval of the application was postponed.

Francis Bellizzi Property: pictures of the lamp posts and copies of the revised house plans were submitted to Commissioners.  After discussion, it was agreed that the style of the lights was acceptable but that a letter should be written to the Bellizzis to request a plot plan locating the lights along the driveway, prior to making a final determination.

Lindquist Property: according to the Town Attorney, the Building Inspector, Mr. Dougan must declare the property to be in violation of the Town Blight Ordinance.  The Historic District Commission has contacted Mr. Dougan to request that action be initiated.

Union School Committee reported that the Subcommittee completed its report.  The report was distributed to all members and a copy will be filed with the Historic District Commission minutes.

ADMINISTRATION

Vice-Chairperson Virginia Macro distributed to commissioners a listing of the properties in the Historic District which includes descriptions of the architectural styles as listed in the National Register Nomination for East Windsor Hill.

ADJOURNMENT

A motion to adjourn was made at 9:20 PM by Commissioner Pitcock, seconded by Commissioner Burnham and approved unanimously.
