DEMOLITION DELAY COMMITTEE MEETING MINUTES
January 8, 2015
1.~~~~ Call Meeting to Order:
The Demolition Delay Committee meeting was called to order by Chairperson Art Utay at 7:30 pm.

2.~~~~~Roll Call:  
  • Members present: Wayne McKinney, Virginia Macro. Art Utay, Viney Wilson, and Walter FitzPatrick.
  • Members absent:  None
3.~~~~ Outside Participation:
  • Michele Lipe, South Windsor Town Planner
  • Keith Yagaloff, South Windsor Town Attorney
  • Rich Nicholson, Owner of barn at 648 Main Street
  • Jairo Orea, Observer, South Windsor High School
  • Brian Savidge, Observer, South Windsor High School
4.~~~~ Approval of Minutes:
  • Motion by was made member Wilson, seconded by member McKinney, to approve the minutes of the regular meeting held on November 13, 2014.  The motion carried unanimously.
5.~~~~ Old Business:  

  • Discussed the DDC report on the Town Center Initiative with Town Attorney and Town Planner. It was agreed that this report should be modified to recommend compliance with the DDC ordinance in lieu of potential policy recommendations.  Chairperson Utay agrees to perform the edit and distribute a revision.
6.~~~~ New Business:  
  • Request for demolition of barn at 648 Main Street. The owner, Rich Nicholson, provided a photo and detailed conditions of the subject barn which needs be demolished for safety reasons.  Chairperson Art Utay requested a vote to approve the town issuing a Demolition Permit for the barn at 684 Main Street. It was unanimously approved.                                                                                                 
7.~~~~ Administration
  • A list of the 2015 DDC meeting dates was distributed and is attached.
  • Chairperson Utay reported that Member McKinney has been appointed by The Historical Society as their representative for another term.
8.~~~~ Adjournment
  • Member Wilson moved to adjourn at 8:38 pm.  Second by member McKinney.  The motion carried unanimously.
