1. Call Meeting to Order:
• Chairperson FitzPatrick called the meeting to order at 7:42 PM.
2. Roll Call:
• Members present: Art Utay, Viney Wilson, Walt FitzPatrick, Wayne McKinney
• Members absent: Peter Jennings.
3. Public Participation:
• Ms. Virginia Macro, Chair Historic District Commission.
4. Approval of Minutes:
• Motion by member Utay, seconded by member Wilson, was made to approve the minutes of the regular meeting held on May 2, 2013. The motion carried unanimously.
5. Old Business:
• 1146 Main Street was discussed. Ginny Macro spoke with Greg Farmer and reported he is willing to get back involved if we would like. Walter FitzPatrick reported he spoke with the Kasheta’s and reiterated to them that they hold no responsibility or liability for the architect/engineer to visit the property. The property is being advertised in the CT Trust Preservation News.
• The Building Department procedure was discussed. We need to clarify their method of checking the age of property. It was suggested a line be added to the existing application card stating age or year built. Chris Dougan will attend our next meeting in July to discuss the Building Department’s role with the Committee.
• It was also suggested we add the Demolition Delay Committee to the web page for notification of demolition to members.
• The by-laws were adopted. Art Utay made the motion, Wayne McKinney seconded. The motion carried unanimously.
6. New Business:
• Election of Officers: Viney Wilson moved to nominate Art Utay as Chairman, Wayne McKinney second. Motion passed. Art accepted the position. Walter FitzPatrick nominated Viney Wilson as Vice Chairman, Wayne McKinney second. Motion passed
7. Administration
• The next regular Demolition Delay Committee meeting will be July 8.
8. Adjournment
• Member Wilson moved to adjourn the meeting at 8:30 PM; seconded by member FitzPatrick. The motion carried unanimously.
