PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES
May 4, 2015
8:00 p.m.
South Windsor Town Council
PURPOSE: To receive citizen input on Lease Purchase Financing for the Acquisition of Eversource Streetlights and Replacement LED Streetlights
Mayor Anwar called the Public Hearing to order at 8:00 p.m.; and requested that the Clerk of the Council read the call of the meeting (a copy of which is attached hereto). There were approximately fifty (50) people present in the audience.
Councilor Wagner and Mike Gantick who is the Director of Public Works reviewed the LED Streetlight Retrofit Program, as shown in attached Exhibit A.
Mayor Anwar asked if there was anyone from the public that would like to speak.
Mr. Victor Berman, 16 Lavender Lane came before the Town Council and stated that the plan is great but the Town is not including the 55+ communities or the condo communities even though both communities pay taxes like the rest of the Town.
As is the custom, the Mayor asked for a show of hands for a straw vote on the proposal. The results were as follows:
Those in favor of the Town to lease purchase finance for the acquisition of Eversource Streetlights and Replacement LED Streetlights.: - 19
Those in opposition of the Town to lease purchase finance for the acquisition of Eversource Streetlights and Replacement LED Streetlights.: - 0
The public hearing was closed at 8:18 p.m.
