PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES
June 2, 2014

South Windsor Town Council
PURPOSE: To receive citizen input on Amendments to South Windsor Code of Ordinances, Chapter 74 – Parks and Recreation – Article II. Commission, Section 74-31. Established, Terms
Mayor Anwar called the Public Hearing to order at 8:00 p.m.; and requested that the Clerk of the Council read the call of the meeting (a copy of which is attached hereto).
Mayor Anwar asked if there was anyone from the public that would like to speak.
Mr. Mike Sullivan, 24 Jared Court came forward and stated that this ordinance restores the number of members to ten because of an error in an ordinance that reduced the membership to nine. How does a body with an even number of members and voters arrive at a consensus? Mr. Sullivan felt that the ability for there to be an odd number of members allow for a majority to reach a decision during deliberative sessions to ensure there will be a conclusion or an outcome.
The public hearing was closed at 8:03 p.m.
