TOWN COUNCIL MONDAY, MAY 2, 2011

1. Call Meeting to Order
Mayor Pelkey called the meeting to order at 7:00 p.m.

A. Information Technologies Budget
Mr. John Marchesseault from Information Technologies came before the Town Council to present the Information Technologies budget as shown in attached Exhibit A.
Answering questions from the Town Council, Mr. Marchesseault explained that 2010 is the first full year with Granicus and the Town was still under the original purchase agreement. Beginning this year the Town will be starting a service contract for the maintenance.
At 7:15 p.m. the Work Session was recessed in order to hold a Public Hearing.
The Work Session was reconvened at 7:52 p.m.

Answering questions from the Council, Mr. Marchesseault explained that the Town saves money with the GIS system through the ability to produce maps
Mayor Pelkey explained that the GIS mapping was put into Capital Projects because it exceeded $50,000 per year. This year the Town cut the amount to $50,000 to cover the licenses. The remainder of the funds will have to be appropriated in order to continue gathering information needed to build this system. Ms. Dawn Mulholland is the full time GIS Technician and there are other employees who use the system on a regular basis.
B. Capital Projects Budget
Mayor Pelkey stated that this item would be discussed at the Regular Meeting under Item 9. Communications from Officers and Boards Directly Responsible to Council.
8. Adjournment
At 7:58 p.m. Mayor Pelkey made a motion to adjourn the Work Session. Councillor Prague seconded the motion; and it was approved, unanimously.
