PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES
May 3, 2010
7:00 p.m.
South Windsor Council Chambers
PURPOSE: To receive citizen input on the Proposed Ordinance, an “Ordinance to Create and Become a Member of the Central Connecticut Solid Waste Authority”
Mayor Pelkey called the Public Hearing to order at 7:00 p.m.; and requested that the Clerk of the Council read the call of the meeting (a copy of which is attached hereto as Exhibit A). There were approximately ten (10) people present in the audience.
Mayor Pelkey asked if there was anyone from the public that would like to speak and there was not.
Town Manager Matthew Galligan gave an overview of the proposed Ordinance. 29 towns will be involved in this ordinance. A copy of the Ordinance Information is attached as Exhibit B and a copy of the proposed Ordinance is attached as Exhibit C.
Mayor Pelkey added that this Public Hearing was held to follow procedure. He stated that he does not think it is a controversial matter.
Following comments, Mayor Pelkey asked for a Straw Vote, the results of which were as follows:
Those in favor of the proposed Ordinance: - 7
Those opposed to the proposed Ordinance: - 0
The Public Hearing was closed at 7:07 p.m.
