PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES

May 18, 2009
7:30 p.m.

South Windsor Council Chambers

PURPOSE:        To receive citizen input on a proposed “Mutual Assistance Agreement with the Town of Vernon for the Designation of Fire Marshals

Mayor Prague called the Public Hearing to order at 7:30 p.m.; and requested that the Clerk of the Council read the call of the meeting (a copy of which is attached hereto).  There were approximately sixteen (16) people present in the audience.

Mr. Walter Summers, Fire Marshal came before the Town Council and explained that this Mutual Assistance Agreement would help South Windsor and Vernon support each other when the Fire Marshal from one town is not at work for whatever reason.

Mayor Prague asked if there was anyone from the public that would like to speak, there were none.

Mayor Prague asked for a Straw Vote, the results of which were as follows:

Those in favor of the Mutual Assistance Agreement with the Town of Vernon for the Designation of Fire Marshals: - 9

Those opposed of the Mutual Assistance Agreement with the Town of Vernon for the Designation of Fire Marshals: - 0

The public hearing was closed at 7:32 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,
