PURPOSE: To receive citizen input on the Proposed General Government Budget for Fiscal Year 2008/2009.
Mayor Streeter called the Public Hearing to order at 7:30 p.m.; and requested that the Clerk of the Council read the call of the meeting (a copy of which is attached hereto). There were approximately twenty two (22) people present in the audience.
Mayor Streeter asked if there was anyone from the public that would like to speak.
The following residents came forward to speak in opposition to the proposed 2008/2009 budget:

As is the custom, Mayor Streeter asked for a show of hands for a straw vote on the proposal. The results were as follows:
Those in favor of supporting the General Budget as submitted to the Town Council: - 0
Those in favor of supporting to spend additional funds on the General Budget: - 0
Those in favor of supporting to spend less funds on the General Budget: - 15
The Public Hearing was closed at 7:47 p.m.
