PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES

March 3, 2008
7:30 p.m.

SOUTH WINDSOR COUNCIL CHAMBERS


PURPOSE:        To receive citizen input on a proposed Amendment to Ordinance #151 – Historic District Commission

Mayor Streeter called the Public Hearing to order at 7:30 p.m.; and requested that the Clerk of the Council read the call of the meeting (a copy of which is attached hereto).  There were approximately nine (26) people present in the audience.

Mayor Streeter asked if there was anyone from the public that would like to speak.

Ms. Virginia Macro of addressStreet1828 Main Street, who is the Chair of the Historic District Commission came forward and urged the Town Council to approve the amendments to this Ordinance.

Mr. Bruce Burnham of addressStreet1909 Main Street, who is on the Historic District Commission came forward and stated that the two changes being proposed are already statutes in the State of placeStateConnecticut.  He also urged the Town Council to approve this Ordinance.

As is the custom, Mayor Streeter asked for a show of hands for a straw vote on the proposal.  The results were as follows:

All those in favor of the Town Council adopting amendments to “Ordinance #151 – Historic District Commission” – 6

All those opposed to the Town Council adopting amendments to “Ordinance #151 – Historic District Commission” – 0
The Public Hearing was closed at 7:32 p.m.
