Public Hearing-Transfer Salt&Storage-6/3/02
PUBLIC HEARING MINUTES
JUNE 3, 2002

COUNCIL CHAMBERS
7:00 P.M.

PURPOSE:        TO RECEIVE CITIZEN INPUT ON THE REALLOCATION OF $181,680 FROM THE CLOSE-OUT OF LIBRARY CONSTRUCTION FUNDS TO CAPITAL IMPROVEMENTS FUNDS FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF A TOWN GARAGE SALT MIXING AND STORAGE SHED.

The Public Hearing was called to order at 7:25 p.m.  The Clerk of the Council read the Call of the Meeting (copy attached).  The following Town Council members were present:  Mayor Aman and Councillors Barbour, Burnham, Delnicki, Fine, Havens, Lassman Fisher and Pelkey.  (Deputy Mayor Streeter was absent.)  Also present were Town Manager Matthew B. Galligan and Town Attorney Barry D. Guliano.

There were 8 people in the audience.

Mayor Aman explained that this money is left over from the Library expansion.  The intent is to take that money, since the Library has been finished, and transfer it so that it may be used for a salt-mixing and storage shed.

Mary Etter, Director of the South Windsor Public Library, felt that it was appropriate to say thank you, since it was a formal finalization of the Library construction project.

There being no other individuals wishing to speak, Mayor Aman called for a Straw Vote, the results of which were as follows:

Those in favor of the transfer
        Those opposed to the transfer
The Public Hearing was closed at 7:30 p.m.

Respectfully submitted,

Merlyn P. Guild
Assistant to the Clerk of the Council
