Minutes of the Meeting
January 14th, 2015
Meeting called to order: 6:30 pm.
Commissioners in Attendance: Rob O’Connor, George Caye, Dave Romejko, Katie Graham, Bill Nowak, Al Larson, Gary Bazzano
Also in Attendance: Ray Favreau, Stephan Wagner, John Caldwell, Alan Witkin, Bob Dickenson,
Before we started the Agenda Al wanted all members that Dan Rezende received an award at this year’s annual CT Legion Banquet. Congratulations Dan.
Approval of Minutes: A motion was made by Rob O’Connor and seconded to approve the December Minutes. Passed unanimously.

Special Reports: None
Report of Council Liaison: Talk at the last TC meeting was about who was going to use the empty Wapping School once it was vacated. Ray was at the meeting and the Town Council is not totally backing the project of making Wapping the Town Community Center. They are looking at making it a possible extension of the Town Hall and have offices for some town staff. The one selling point to the public for the referendum was to give the seniors their own building (Enes Community Center) and move the rec department to Wapping and have Wapping School be the South Windsor Community Center. Ray will have a preliminary report for the Town Council for their next meeting. Al would like to have PARC help in what the building will be used for in the future. PARC would like it to be a
Community Center only and not office space. The area is perfect for expanding into a Rec Center for the town with an indoor pool and gymnasium.

Report of the B of E Liaison: None
Report of Parks and Rec. Director:
- Fund Balance: Right now it is at $61,639 of which $60,000 is earmarked for projects leaving us with $1,639 for 2015/16 if the Town Council funds us with $0.00 again.
- Next focus group is with the Sports Organizations in town will be 1/22/15 at 7pm in the Community Center.
- Friends of Recreation: Meeting to discuss the Miracle Field in the Little League Complex on 1/15/15 at 7pm in the Community Center.
Master Plan Subcommittee: Next meeting is Wednesday January 21, at 6:30pm at the Community Center for anyone who wants to attend.
Motion made to suspend the Meeting at 7:00 pm to start the Public Workshop.
Motion was made at 7:55pm to reopen the meeting. Seconded, voted on and passed unanimously.
Al mentioned the PARC is part of the SWAAN Committee and wanted to know if a member could attend the meetings. This group is focusing on the Priest Property. Katie Graham attends the meetings and can report back to PARC on their progress. Al would also like the group to present to PARC when they are ready to move forward with the property.
Motion made and seconded to adjourn. Voted on and passed unanimously.
