The following is a memo from Veterans Agent Michael Detillion regarding Veterans Day and those being honored:
In the past two years we have honored WWII Veterans and Korean Veterans on Veterans Day, this year we are going to honor Vietnam Veterans. We would like all Vietnam veterans from Shirley to be present at the celebration on November 11, 2017 at llAM at Whitley Park. If anyone is interested in speaking to their experiences we would be honored to recognize you. Also, we will have chairs set-up to seat those veterans so it is important to notify me if you are going to be present.
Shirley lost two residents to the Vietnam War and we want to honor them as well as those that fought and those who worked in support of the combat units both here and abroad.
