Update on the Main Street Bridge:
The length of wall to be replaced was determined based on the condition of the wall that needed to be replaced. A plan to grout the wall was put in place, but Engineers were unable to obtain acceptable pricing from the contractor. The current status is that Engineers are waiting on a price from the contractor to install an expansion joint between the existing stone masonry wall and the start of the new wall. The design plans show an expansion joint at this location between the transition wall and the new wall, therefore a lot of the labor and material for the new work are already included in the bid price.
Once a price is obtained construction will resume.
