Board of Commissioners of Trust Funds
Minutes of the July 11, 2013 Meeting

Present: Mayor Driscoll, William P. Goreham, Raymond Vaillancourt, Thaddeus Buczko and Sumner Jones

The meeting was called to order at 5:30 P.M. in the Mayor’ Office, City Hall.

Raymond Vaillancourt made a motion to approve the minutes of the June 13, 2013 meeting.  The motion was seconded by Thaddeus Buczko and voted unanimously.

The Salem Council on Aging submitted a request for medication expense reimbursement for $539.61.  Raymond Vaillancourt made a motion to approve the request from the Endicott Fund.  The motion was seconded by Thaddeus Buczko and voted unanimously.

Salem Cyber Space found an old check they did not cash and requested a replacement check.  Mayor Driscoll made a motion to approve a new check for $875.00.  The motion was seconded by Thaddeus Buczko and voted unanimously.   

Read Picnic expenses were reviewed.  Ride expenses were $385.00 and food expenses were $417.00.  Raymond Vaillancourt made a motion to approve the expenses for the appropriate picnic funds.  The motion was seconded by William P. Goreham and voted unanimously.

Checks totaling $850.00 were received for the Roland Pinault Class of 41’ Scholarship Fund.  The money will be deposited into that line item.

A check for $1,800.00 will be sent to the North Shore Concert Band for free concerts at the Willows.  This was approved previously from the Browne Discretionary Fund.

Several local agencies attended the meeting and reviewed their needs for FY14.

North Shore Community Action Program – General and Fuel Assistance - $45,000
Catholic Charities of the North Shore – General and Fuel Assistance - $22,000
The Salvation Army – General and Fuel Assistance - $7,000
Josephs Store House – Food - $5,000
The Salem Pantry – Food - $4,000
St Vicente de Paul Society – General and Fuel Assistance - $2,000

The Board will review all applications and vote on Large Grants for FY14 at the
August 15, 2013 meeting.  

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:45 P.M.
