Board of Commissioners of Trust Funds
Minutes of the June 13, 2013 Meeting

Present:  William P. Goreham, Raymond Vaillancourt and Thaddeus Buczko

The Meeting was called to order at 5:30 P.M. in the Mayor’s Office, City Hall.

The Council on Aging submitted a request for medication expense reimbursement in the amount of $477.16.  Raymond Vaillancourt made a motion to approve the request from the Endicott Fund.  The motion was seconded by William P. Goreham and voted unanimously.  

A second request was reviewed from the Council on Aging for an elder Salem resident in need of an air conditioner  for medical purposes.  Raymond Vaillancourt made a motion to approve the request for $241.21 from the Endicott Fund payable to Salem & Tobin TV.  The motion was seconded by Thaddeus Buczko and voted unanimously.

Raymond Vaillancourt made a motion to approve the minutes of the May 9, 2013 meeting.  The motion was seconded by Thaddeus Buczko and voted unanimously.

The Brookhouse Home for Women submitted their final large grant summary for the fiscal year in the amount of $869.75 for over the counter medication for residents at the home.  This is a large grant, it does not require a vote as it was previously approved.

Several agencies attended the meeting submitting and discussing their needs for the next fiscal year – all are listed below and a finial decision on fund distribution will be completed by the August meeting.

Boys & Girls Club of Salem - $10,000 for on going programs for Salem children.

Salem YMCA -$10,000 for on going programs for Salem children.

Children’s Friend & Family Society -$12,500 for their Teen Parent Program at Salem
High School and their Mentor program for Salem children.

Plumber Home - $10,000 for programs for at risk Salem children.

Community Architecture - $2,400 for math/building programs for Salem children.

Journeys of Hope – $30,000 – program for at risk young adult Salem children (18-23).

Salem Theater - $3,000 for local productions

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 6:55 P.M.
