Board of Commissioners of Trust Funds
Minutes of the June 10, 2010 Meeting
Present: Mayor Driscoll, Robert Lutts, Raymond Vaillancourt, Thaddeus Buczko and William Goreham
Mayor Driscoll called the meeting to order at 5:30 PM.
Raymond Vaillancourt made a motion to approve the minutes of the May 13, 2010 meeting. The motion was seconded by William Goreham and voted unanimously.
The Salem Council on Aging submitted a request for medication expense reimbursement. Raymond Vaillancourt made a motion to approve $925.25 from the Endicott Fund for the expenses. The motion was seconded by Robert Lutts and voted unanimously.
The remainder of the meeting was dedicated to FY2011 Large Grant Proposals.
One common theme was the increase of assistance needed by the unemployed and those who have taken new jobs at a substantially lower income who need additional assistance. This is an entirely new group of individuals seeking funds who have never required assistance. The agencies are expecting an increase in this group next year.

Catholic Charities – General Assistance, Fuel Assistance, Food Vouchers
North Shore Community Action Program – General Assistance, Fuel Assistance
Life Bridge – General Assistance
Cyber Space Program – General Assistance
St. Vincent de Paul Society – General Assistance
Salem YMCA – General Assistance
Brook House Home – Medication Expense – Endicott Fund
Salem State College – Darwin Festival - Read Lecture
At the July 8, 2010 meeting, the remaining agencies will and present their proposals.
There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned at 7:20 PM.
