The Park and Recreation Commission held it’s meeting on Tuesday June 17, 2008 at 6:45 P.M. at the Park, Recreation and Community Center located on Broad Street.

Superintendent’s Report
Karen Butler – Gonyea Park – She would like to buy a small piece of the land/park.
Doug Bollen would like to have the Commission take a look at this park. 4 Woodbury Court.

Laura Swanson made a motion to approve the Triathlon starting and ending at Forest River Park on Sunday, August 10, 2008. Mary Ann Curtin seconded.

Bridgewell Recreation Coordinator, Charlotte Puleo Alimenti would like to rent the Camp Naumkeag.
Pat Curtin made a motion to approve the cook out for special needs individuals from 5:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m. on a date after July 4, to be determined by Doug Bollen at the Naumkeag. Fees waived. Laura Swanson seconded.

Golf Course – Witch House updated balances hand out
Budget meeting Monday night
Capital Improvement projects passage
Laura Swanson asked if Doug Bollen could put up a cradle swing as soon as possible. Also order more.
Forest River – Major Park renovations being discussed. The Commission needs to be involved with Friends of Forest River to see what Company’s they are looking at. They need to bring back any information to be approved by the Commission.
James Shea would like Doug Bollen to look into this project and get most out of the money. He said this is a big project. James Shea would like picture of what they are looking at, their ideas.
Pool Parties Fees
Laura Swanson made a motion to charge $25.00 per life guard/ per 20 people. $100.00 for 2 hours. A $50.00 refundable deposit is required for cleanup. No rain dates. Chris Burke seconded.

Boat Storage – 2 proposals – Charlie Arnold or Peter Gifford no maintenance, only boat storage May - Oct
Laura made a motion to have the following the perimeters for the Boat Storage proposal.
Shrink wrap and on a trailer in an out
No power washing
No painting
No working on the boat at all
All Boat are to be off the Island by May 15
Boat can start storage Labor Day
Storage will start in the back of the Hangar then go out front following
One year trail run
The person running the Boat Storage will set the fee.

Chris Burke made a motion to allow single golfers to pay a 6.50 golf cart fee. Discussion: If you charge that little everyone will take his or her own cart.
Chris Burke made a motion to allow single golfers to pay $9.00 for a golf cart. This is for a 30 day trial run starting June 24 – July 24, 2008. Laura Swanson seconded.

The Commission would like Doug to have a sign up at the Golf Course that a defibrillator is in the ClubHouse if needed in an emergency.
