Introduction
The group introduced themselves to all in attendance.

MLK Day
Tom said Mayor’s Office would like to do something for MLK Day.  Shawn suggested not to celebrate it on the 19th, but to wait until when the college is back in session, so on the 26th.  The college usually does a leadership breakfast but can’t this year because of budget restraints. Also have speakers from local public schools, established through an essay contest, at a convocation.   Suggested holding a candlelight vigil in the evening.  Also has a film he will be showing.  Everything is to be held on the 26th.

Claire said that Marshall Bradstreet, with Youth Rising (Salem based organization?) were going to go around the city reading parts of the speech to people.

Bonnie asked if we could should this film at Cinema Salem in the Screening Room?  Incorporate Obama election speech in it.  Can we do a showing of the inauguration on the 20th?  Shirley is there.  Group likes the idea of showing the film at OTH.

Ask Gordon College
Ask Paul about showing MLK speech at Cinema.  Bonnie suggested the idea of possibly showing the film at the PEM.  Can Marvin Wilson speak?  Jeff Borzinell to lead a talk after showing of the film.  Shirley is going to ask her friend if she would like to speak on her experience.  Shawn will see if a professor can speak.  Luz Longes is a guidance councilor at SHS.  Promote events at schools.

Tom will email info to Shawn and Lucy who will put together the flyer.  Event should be held at 6:30pm.

Lucy asked about the House of Gables, should have it run on SATV!  Wendy mentioned an event on March 19th at North Shore CC in Lynn this year.

Update webpage of NPFH, names, emails, and meeting time.

Meeting adjourned at 6:05 pm.
