Journeys of Hope: Susan Hauck, interim executive director, and Andrew Acampora, president, explained what Journeys of Hope is: Journeys of Hope began in 2007 when Acampora found that many agencies were geared toward older homeless people. Journeys of Hope is geared toward 18-23-year-olds who are homeless or at-risk of becoming homeless. Journeys of Hope is currently housed at the UU church on Bridge Street, where it offers day programs. There is also a street worker who does outreach work.

Journeys of Hope is working to learn the needs of youth in Salem, connect with neighborhood groups and businesses and expand programming. Journeys of Hope is also looking for volunteers and is willing to speak at any community meetings.
