Present: Meghann Ackerman, Sgt. Stephen Bona, Michael Coleman, Liz Cronin, Sgt. Eric Connolly, Dorothy Hayes, Leslie Limon, Barbara Mann, Jim Moskovis, Pat Murphy, Jim Rose

Drugs and other public safety issues: Sgt. Stephen Bona said residents should report any suspicious activity in their neighborhood and that police do try to investigate all reports. Although grant money for a formal regional drug task force has dried up, departments do help each other out during investigations.

Jim Moskovis said he had noticed new people walking around Ward 4. Sgt. Bona said police were familiar with some of those people and some of them are people who travel around the City looking for cans.

Dorothy Hayes asked how residents could learn about sex offenders living in their neighborhoods. Sgt. Bona explained that Level 3 sex offenders were posted publically and that residents could come to the station to view a list of Level 2 sex offenders.

Leslie Limon asked about manpower in the department. Sgt. Bona said there are new recruits coming up through the academy.

Sgt. Bona explained that the department also has a Special Response Unit that deals with quality of life issues and smaller crimes.

Furlong Park: Jason Silva said the clean-up at the park is completed, but the City is negotiating with the contractor to finish the work.

Arch on the Common: Michael Coleman said the Common Neighborhood Association had been working with the National Guard to restore the arch on the Common. After applying for a grant, they found out it would be easier if the City applied for the program.

The meeting adjourned at 8 p.m.
