Meeting: Salem Licensing Board was held Monday, November 8, 2012 at 6:00 pm in the third floor conference room, 120 Washington Street. Present were Chairman Bob St. Pierre and members John Casey and Rick Lee, Det. Sgt. Page
Approved: An application for a One Day Liquor License for Lisa Cammarata. for November 30th, 2012.
Ms. Cammarata said that it was for an employee retirement party from 6pm-12am for about 75 people and that NS Bartending would be serving.
Mr. Casey motioned to approve.
Mr. Casey asked if it was a cash Bar.
Ms. Cammarata said it would be.
Mr. Lee motioned to approve.
Mr. Lee seconded.
Mr. St. Pierre said all are in favor. Motion carries.
Discussion:Mr. St. Pierre said that the discussion with the following establishment s is in conjunction with the Building Department of the issue of 304 inspections that go hand in hand with the Liquor Licenses.
He called the following restaurants up to the table:
The Lyceum, Passage to India, Ristorante Gioia & Brisas del Caribe
He also asked the Assistant Building Inspector t, Mike Lutrzykowski to join the table for the discussion
Mike said that the building department and fire department to try and simplify the process this year so that each department is not running around at the last minute trying to get the 304 certificates done. He said a letter went out early in the summer and Ms. Pagliaro sent out another reminder letter to all licensees.
Approved: Application to transfer the location of a Class II Auto Dealers License. Applicant: Salem Auto Gallery currently on Jackson Street to 142 Canal Street. Present: Daniel Zepeda and Salvator Martinez.
Mr. Casey first motioned to extinguish the current license there for ADM Auto d/b/a Filynn motors as they have closed shop and left the space with no notice.
Mr. Lee seconded.
Mr. Martinez said he would like to move to that space because there is a bigger capacity there.
Mr. Casey said he does not believe there are spaces marked for the 25 vehicles that are allowed so Mr. Martinez will need to do that. He said 60 days should be enough to do that. He said that they run a good business and has complied with whatever the Board has asked.
Mr. Casey motioned to approve the Transfer for Salem Auto Gallery from Jackson Street to 142 Canal Street.
Mr. Lee motioned to approve.
Mr. St. Pierre said all are in favor. Motion carries.
Commun-
ications: Det. Baglioni said that Sgt. Page would be updating the Board on Bangkok Paradise and Giovanni’s upon his return next week. He said the investigation is still ongoing.
OLD/NEW:Ms. Pagliaro said that about 6 liquor licenses will be bought before the November meeting for failing to comply with the 304 renewal instructions.
Approved: Meeting minutes from October 9, 2012 meeting.
