ORDERED: To accept a donation of K-9 Dogs and equipment from Salem Project K-9 and Massachusetts Vest-A-Dog with an estimated worth of Forty-four Thousand Five Hundred Dollars ($44,500.00). These items will be donated directly to the Police Department in accordance with the recommendation of Her Honor the Mayor.
#520 - DONATION TO POLICE DEPARTMENT DARE PROGRAM
The following Order recommended by the Mayor was adopted.
ORDERED: To accept a donation from the Town of Danvers in the amount of One Thousand Dollars ($1,000.00) to help support the DARE Summer Camp program. These funds will be deposited into the Police Department Summer Camp Donation Fund in accordance with the recommendation of Her Honor the Mayor.
#521 – RESOLUTION TO ADOPT SALEM HAZARD MITIGATION PLAN
The following Resolution recommended by the Mayor was adopted.
RESOLUTION:
WHEREAS: The City of Salem, MA established a Committee to prepare the Hazard Mitigation Plan; and
WHEREAS: The Salem Hazard Mitigation Plan contains several potential future projects to mitigate potential impacts from natural hazards in the City of Salem; and
WHEREAS: a duly-notified public meeting was held by the Salem City Council on September 13, 2012; and
WHEREAS: the City of Salem authorizes responsible departments and/or agencies to execute their responsibilities demonstrated in the plan;
NOW, THEREFOR BE IT RESOLVED that the Salem City Council adopts to Hazard Mitigation Plan in accordance with Massachusetts General Laws Chapter 40 Section 4 or the Charter and bylaws of the City of Salem.
