A Special Meeting of the City Council was held in the Council Chamber on Monday, January 31, 2008 at 8:00 P.M. for the purpose of Accepting Massachusetts General Law Chapter 71, Section 37M, Consolidation of Administrative Function. Notice of this meeting was posted on January 29, 2008 at 5:11 P.M.
Councillor Sargent was recorded as absent.
Council President Michael Sosnowski presided.
Councillor O’Keefe moved to dispense with the reading of the record of the previous meeting. It was so voted.
#85 – (#788 of 2007) ACCEPTANCE OF M.G.L. CH. 71, SEC. 37M
Councillor Pelletier offered the following report for the Committee on Government Services which was co-posted with the Committee of the Whole. It was voted to accept the report and adopt the recommendation by a roll call vote of 10 yeas, 0 nays, 1 absent. Councillor Furey, Lovely, McCarthy, O’Keefe, Pelletier, Pinto, Prevey, Ryan, Veno and Sosnowski were recorded as voting in the affirmative. Councillor Sargent was recorded as absent.
The Committee on Government Services co-posted with the Committee of the Whole to whom was referred the matter of Acceptance of Massachusetts General Law Chapter 71, Section 37M relative to the Consolidation of Administrative Functions, has considered said matter and would recommend approval.
Councillor O’Keefe moved for immediate reconsideration in the hopes it would not prevail. Reconsideration was denied.
On the motion of Councillor O’Keefe, the meeting adjourned at 8:02 P.M.
