The Regular Meeting of the Salem Council on Aging will be held on Wednesday, April 18, 2012 at 6:00 p.m. at the office of the Council, 5 Broad Street, Salem, Massachusetts.

1. MINUTES OF PREVIOUS MEETING
A vote will be taken to waive the reading of (or read) and accept (or amend) the Minutes
The previous meeting held on Wednesday, March 21, 2012.
2. COMMENTS/RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CHAIRPERSON
· The Chairman will discuss the information Eric Blumberg gave us last meeting on attracting younger seniors to COA’s and also ask for a new list of phones numbers, emails and addresses from Board. She will also discuss committee work.
3. REPORT OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR/Assistant Director
· New Community Life Center – update on status
· Activities - Update on Programs and Special events coming up for March and April
· Attendance Report - Transportation, Social Service & Nutrition attendance will be reported
· Committee to explore policies for COA services provided by private business groups vs. non profits groups & political campaigning at the COA as well as fees which COA may consider charging for instructors for services.
· COA Board training on May 22, at Belmont at 8:45am
· New Van update
· Spanish class taught by Bill Woolley1.
· Discussion on successful use of the Simultaneous Interpretation System.~
· Report on Friends on the Council on Aging
