The Regular Meeting of the Salem Council on Aging will be held on Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at 6:30 p.m. at the office of the Council, 5 Broad Street, Salem, Massachusetts.

A vote will be taken to waive the reading of (or read) and accept (or amend) the Minutes of
The previous meeting held on Wednesday, October 19, 2011.
2. COMMENTS/RECOMMENDATIONS OF THE CHAIRPERSON
· Welcome to everyone and reminder for new and current Board members to get a copy and read the By laws, standards of Independent Behavior policies, Emergency Preparedness, and Transportation polices and call if you will miss a meeting
3. REPORT OF THE EXECUTIVE DIRECTOR/Assistant Director
· New Community Life Center – update on status
· Slide show of the Duarte ceremony and start of the International Founders Gallery.
· Discussion on Policy regarding presentations and services rendered by for-profit businesses and individuals.
· Purchase of repeater and antennae for hospital roof has been made; installation soon.
· Video and slides presentations being created by a NSCC marketing major student-intern.
· Thousand Paper Cranes project started by South Korean students in English Language Learning program at Salem State University.
· Name newsletter contest discussion
· Activities - Update on Programs and Special events coming up for November and December
· Attendance Report - Transportation, Social Service & Nutrition attendance will be reported
· Discussion on Update on recent Friends meeting and vote on funding new van and other items
· Report on recent donation to Transportation Department and thank you to quilting group.
