Imagination has been moving our country forward for generations. Artists, Poets, Adventurers and Scholars, have all encouraged us to dream, to think, to push limits, to imagine. They have taken us from magical lands to the moon. As Rutland celebrates the birth of our nation we ask... what can you imagine?
Twenty years ago, Karen Greenwood took over organizing the fourth of July festivities in Rutland. With her sister Lynne Amsden, they imagined an event that would bring friends, families and a community together to celebrate. They may not have imagined how successful it would become. For their years of service and dedication we honor them as the Grand Marshals.
Boy Scout troop would like to move the location of the trailer – people stack up in the road
- Need to use the library for water and electricity
- Folks in the pack are looking into the above
- Missy will follow up with Rutland Biz Association and Rutland Little League
Barbara Campbell –
- she’ll follow up with the Wachusett Singers to sing the star spangle banner during the parade
- Extend the invitation to march in the parade behind the Grand Marshals, will reach out to coach
Mark updated the group on the “wedding chapel” idea
- Jeff and “crew” are looking into it and will circle back next meeting
- Also suggested May want to inviting Nick – Chief of Police to the next meeting
Roadrace – Saturday June 30th – Updates from John
- Will likely go up on prices to $20 for adult race
- Just broke even last year given cost of T shirts
