Finance Committee Minutes

Mr. Nichols opened the meeting at 6:30 p.m. The meeting was recorded by Channel 191.
MINUTES
Ms. Nahrwold moved to accept meeting minutes from March 1, 2018 as written. Mr. Ruchala 2nd. Vote unanimous.
There was discussion about distributing meeting notices and agendas by email to members of the Committee and including Town Moderator, Randy Jordan, on these emails.
There was discussion of the WRSD Turf Project. Members of the Committee received an email from Margaret Nartowicz, Town Administrator, regarding funding for the project and possible use of the stabilization fund. Mr. Nichols suggested further review of the email and to ask for clarification on possible stabilization fund use.
There was discussion about the recent opening of the Assistant Town Clerk position and how this will affect the Town Clerk's budget request as presented to the Finance Committee on February 6, 2018.
Mr. McKinlay, who was unable to attend the last meeting on March 1, 2018, discussed Chief Nick Monaco's request to apply for the Stanton Foundation grant to obtain and police dog for Rutland's Police Department. Mr. McKinlay has some concerns about the program for the long-run. Mr. Nichols stated that though the matter was already voted on, the Committee can ask for more information and clarification on the grant and K-9 program.
Ms. Vernon moved to adjourn. Mr. Ruchala 2nd. Vote unanimous.
The Finance Committee adjourned to the Special Town Meeting at 6:40 p.m.
