Discussions

Reviewed the 14 points that need to be revised in the current open space plan.

Point 1 needs the dates updated.

Points 2, 3 and 4 are done.

Point 5 – Karla said she is checking with Gary to see if he has any input.

Point 6 – Karla spoke to Fisheries & Wildlife and Jim French is supposed to get back to us.

Point 7 – Stephanie will speak to Gary about this. Joe suggested that we might try to add Stormwater Management to this.

Point 8 is the list of properties. Karla is not sure about the land that has been granted to the town. Dick believes the Assessor’s or the Town Administrator would have this information. Karla will check into this. Stephanie got the information on all properties the town has acquired through tax possessions.

Point 9 is all set, because Karla has the notes from the April 15th meeting.

Point 10 – Karla thought we could speak to Ed Himlin about this. Joe agreed and Karla will call Ed. Joe said we should give him a limited scope of what we are looking for so he can give us a more detailed number for how much he will charge us.

Point 11 – Karla said we can focus on this next meeting.

Point 12 – We need 3 letters. Dick could get these, and thinks Margaret could get the chief’s letters.

Point 13 – Karla will contact the building inspector.

Point 14 – Alta Vista Farm is not a buffalo farm anymore. Karla wondered if the Rutland Historical Society would have anything. The only registered one we are aware of is the Rufus Putnam. Karla will call Helen Viner at the Historical Society to verify. We may only need to add Rufus Putnam. Eric asked if we should contact Melissa Cryan about the historic points question and whether they want Historic points of interest or Registered Historic places or both will be needed on the “Unique Features” map currently on page 17. Dick thinks the Rail Trail should be added to that. Joe said Colleen Abrams could help with the Rail Trail. Dick said that Overlook Farm is now Heifer Farm and should be updated.

Word Document

Eric asked if there was any way to get the Open Space plan as a Word document instead of PDF so that we can edit it. Peter said he has had it turned into a word document so he has the ability to edit it. Karla asked if he would be interested in doing the editing and Peter said he would.

Action Plan

Karla thinks we should look at the survey that we had done to see what the results are and include them in the Action Plan. We can prioritize what people thought was important as well as the list generated at the April 2015 meeting and put them together. Stephanie suggested also looking at the survey that was sent out with the censuses in January. We are going to check with John to see if he has any information about the survey monkey survey that was done previously. We will work on this further the next meeting.

Respectfully Submitted,
