Hearings
Pleasantdale Road Solar II (Treasure Valley II)
Hearing opened at 7:15 PM. DEP #277-0451. Green cards received. This is an approximate 1 megawatt solar project. A good portion of the site is fields. The wetlands were delineated by EcoTec. They did look at the northern part the DEP was concerned about and it did not meet the criteria to be a wetland. The entrance will be across from Joanna Drive. The panels will wrap around the northern side of the wetlands.
They are looking to cut trees near the wetland. No fill is being proposed. 50’ of the northern part of the wetland are some questionable trees and they want to trim or remove depending on an arborist’s suggestion.
There is an existing drainage system on Pleasantdale Road that dumps onto the Treasure Valley property. There is no easement but they have spoken with the DPW and are suggesting a manhole and sump, to which the DPW was agreeable. There is very little grading being done. The interconnection will be underground. There will be a detention basin in the buffer zone to help reduce the flow.
They will be planting trees at the Northern and Eastern side of the project by Pleasantdale Road. Joe thinks we should make a condition to address the DEP concern. Section 5 of the NOI submitted addresses the issue. Also a copy of the email addressing the issue can be given to the board, if needed. The MA GIS shows the Northern part as a wetland all the way to another property but it really isn’t. Nexamp has already addressed this. Motion to close made by Shawn, seconded by Eric; vote unanimous at 7:35 PM.
Discussions
Quinn Engineering
We received an email from Quinn Engineering about EcoTec being the people we should contact to cover the Brice-Lemon project as the 53G Wetland Specialists. Scott thinks we should get something from Mr. Blair in writing agreeing to EcoTec and the 53G. Joe will call and ask him for the letter and then call EcoTec.
Milling
Bushy Lane is done and Barrack Hill Road is almost done. Irish Lane should be soon.
