Meeting Minutes – April 24, 2019
Members present: Chairman Paul Mattson, Peter Craine, Christian Santillo.

Meeting was called to order by chair at 6:00 PM.
Meeting Minutes
Meeting minutes from March 26, 2019 accepted, unanimously [Motion: Christian; 2nd: Paul] at 6:03 PM.
Bills and Accounts
Paul presented a Treasurer’s report. Total expenses were $68,955.66 since the last meeting.
$55.755.00 was for the new recording and broadcasting equipment. $6,230.00 was for new equipment installation.
$6,000 was the Committee’s contribution to the Library’s Gift Fund for the past 6 months.
The balance was for salaries and the Charter cable bill.
There was a brief budget discussion.
Paul thanked Becky for her patience and help, especially getting the new equipment invoice paid.
Financial report was unanimously accepted as presented [Motion: Peter; 2nd: Christian] at 6:10 PM.
Old Business
Equipment Replacement
Installation is nearly complete. Production staff have begun training and experimenting with the new system. We expect to be ready to “go live” in the next month.
The Nexus has periodically shut off. We don’t know the cause of this. We are happy to transition to the new equipment before a hard failure occurs.
New “control” computer
Total cost for the new computer is $2,156.36. Parts have begun to arrive. Paul will install the computer as soon as it is all here. We will transition to this computer about the same time we transition to the new broadcast equipment.
TriCaster Replacement
Peter sent email to NewTek to discuss life span of current TriCaster and the possibility of an upgrade. He has heard nothing since (other then the usual marketing spam).
Leigtronix
Christian informed our Leightronix contact that we have moved forward with a non-Leightronix-based direction.
New Business
Post-Production Software
How do we deal with post-production? We currently use Adobe Premiere 11.
Adobe has switched to a subscription model for all software.
Staff will evaluate the latest “consumer” version of Premiere, the “professional” version of Premier, and Black Magic Design’s DaVinci Resolve software.
Next Meeting
The Committee’s next meeting is scheduled for 6:00 PM on Wednesday, May 29, 2019. [Ed: After the last meeting the Committee rescheduled its next meeting to May 22, 2019.]
