Rutland Cable Advisory Committee
Meeting Minutes – May 6, 2015
Present were: Chairman Paul Mattson, Kathy Clark, Addison Redfield, Brenda Savoie, and guest Skip Clark.
The meeting was called to order at 6:30 PM.
Minutes
A motion to accept the minutes of April 22, 2015 (Addison/Kathy) passed 4/0, Ray abstained.
Bills and Accounts
Paul reported the current balance is $273,187.10 as of March 23, 2015.
A motion to accept the Treasurer’s Report as presented (Addison/Brenda) passed 4/0.
Old Business
Station Manager’s Minutes
Addison reported:
- Trying to obtain pricing on lighting has been difficult. A quote of $7,000 was provided by Northeast Electric for the lighting. Addison obtained a price of $626 for 30 can lights with LED bulbs at the Home Depot for $626 and the price for fixtures at $400.
- Not much has taken place in the studio due to other commitments on the part of Bay Path.
- The price for plaster installation amounts to $3,200
- Doors will be in soon
- Waiting on quote for materials for drop ceiling
Paul reported:
- Will be out of Campbell St. by May 25th
- Library trustees approved the use of the electrical room for broadcasting channel 191.
New Business
Paul confirmed with the State that if a company is selected from the State Bid list, there is no need to go out for an RFP, quotes are sufficient as long as pricing is comparable with other quotes.
There was discussion on hiring a part time person to assist with set up and training on the new equipment. The preference is for someone available for long term rather than an intern. Members will review the description and discuss at the next meeting.
Addison said Fran Steins is available to do the town seal.
The next meeting is scheduled for June 10 at 6:30 PM.
Meeting was adjourned at 7:40 PM. All were in favor.
