Minutes of the Board of Assessors’ meeting held on April 11, 2017 in the Assessors’ Office. Located in the Town Hall at 250 Main St. Rutland
Members Present: Jeffrey Gibbs (Chair), Arthur Lincoln (Member), Joyce McGuinness (Member), Diane Peterson (Regional Assessor, RRG), and Daymian Bartek (Clerk, RRG).
Meeting brought to order at 8:30am
New Business: Abatements for approval and denial, also discussion about lot valuation policy for vacant land and paper lots, also discussion about property influences (group homes, distressed properties, etc)
The following documents were signed:
- Real Estate abatement approvals/denials
- Motor Vehicle Abatements
- Monthly expense approvals
- Meeting minutes
Discussions:
- Met with property owner at 14 Clearview regarding property tax, discussed 8 of 58 procedure, BOA requested Assessor to prepare narrative to DOR
- Open space and property taxes-Assessor to discuss with PB lot approvals with tax implications
The next Board of Assessors Meeting is to be held on Tuesday, May 9,2017 at 8:30 a.m. in the Assessors’ Office located in the Town Hall. This Meeting was adjourned at 10:10am.
