Hearings:
Application for Variance: Haines Realty Trust (Gail Johnson & Robert Haines): 8 Glenwood Rd.
No concerns raised by Board of Health or Planning Board.
Notes: Owners Gail & George Johnson were present. Also present were Dick Williams and one abutter, J. Robert Haines (who was also on application for the variance). No other abutters were present. Owners are seeking a variance to convert a single family home into a 2-family home to be used as an investment property. The property is located in the RD-40 Zoning area, which according to Section 15 of the bylaw, requires 1.5 acres for a two family home. Currently there is only 0.6 acres. Hearing was continued to this meeting so that the board members could conduct additional research. Jacob and Rick explored case law for similar circumstances, but found none that would be in the favor of the applicant. The hardship reason provided by the applicants does not comply with the statute, so they made the decision to formally withdraw their application.
