Meeting called to order at 7:00
Minutes of May meeting unavailable at this time.
Member status
~ ~ Donna Kilpatrick resigned via email to Agcom.~ Official letter to BOS also needed.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Position on Commission needs to be filled in addition to the election of a new
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ secretary.~ ~ ~ ~ ~
~ ~ Kate Gervais - has she officially resigned?
~ ~ Need to clarify status of alternates.
~ ~ Glenn Kauppila made the motion to put election of new secretary on hold until
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ open positions have been filled. Motion carried unanimously
~ ~ Pia Nielsen volunteered to fill 1 vacant position.~ She will send letter of interest
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ to the Board of Selectmen.
~ ~ Glenn Kauppila made the motion that we approach the Board of Selectmen to
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ appoint Debra Carlson and Pia Nielsen to fill open positions. We will then
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ address filling the open alternate positions. Motion carried unanimously.
~ ~ Debbie will compose letter to Board of Selectmen and will take minutes of this
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ meeting.
~ ~ ~ Discussion of Mission Statement and goals, past activities, etc for Pia's benefit.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Ideas for future discussed as well - Right to Farm t-shirts, programs targeting
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ backyard farms quarterly in lieu of a meeting, pot luck dinners.
Rooster Concern
~ ~ Randy spoke with a resident who had complained about a neighbors rooster.
~ ~ Randy explained Right to Farm by law. Resident was unaware of the by law.
~ ~ No communication since.
Earthworks Board
~ ~ ~ Glenn Kauppila has agreed to be the Agcom representative on the Board.
Richard Williams reports that the Rutland Historical Society's Forgotten Arts
~ ~ ~ Festival was well attended and suggests that we become involved again.
~ ~ ~ He also spoke of 4 lots on Central Tree being removed from 61A.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Should we ask to be informed when intent is filed to remove land from 61A.
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Discussion of amount of 61A land being "lost"
Glenwood Greenhouse
~ ~ ~ What is the school's current interest since the greenhouse cannot not be attached
~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ to the building?
~ ~ ~ If we go forward, change dedication to Kathy Clark instead of Richard's father.
~ ~ ~ Discussion of new Ag program at WRHS.
Thanksgiving Basket
~ ~ Donations as follows:
~ ~ Randy - turkey and cider
~ ~ Glenn - pies (squash & apple)
~ ~ Debbie - potatoes & flowers
~ ~ Richard Williams - green beans, squash, stuffing, rolls & butter
~ ~ Pia - cranberry sauce & gravy
~ ~ Jerry - chocolate chip cookies
~ ~ Richard will speak to Paula Stidsen to find out when items needed and get the items
~ ~ to her. Debbie will send a group email with this info.
Festival of Trees
~ ~ Jerry will put up a tree with help from Debbie and Pia.
