Members present were Toryn Bright, Laura Gal, Larry Greene, Matt Lindberg, Larry Pistrang, Dawn Sulmasy, and Carla Volturo. Also present were Selectman Edie Morgan, WRSD School Committee Member Michelle Scibarrasi and Town Administrator John Lebeaux. Chairman Pistrang called the meeting to order at 7:03 PM.
Brainstorming Session
Chairman Pistrang opened the meeting by addressing four general questions that defined what the issue is ([1] declining enrollment and [2] its adverse effect on future 7th and 8th grades), [3] the Committee’s actions and plans, and [4] the three preliminary options (do nothing dramatic, send 7th and 8th graders to an expanded Mountview in Holden, and attract additional students to TPS.
The Committee then entertained comments and questions which were handwritten onto three large presentation pads on easels. Each pad was related to one of the preliminary option categories.
At the conclusion of the open participation, the Committee unanimously voted to adjourn at 8:52 PM.
